Welcome to my world!
My studio is located in the suburbs of Boston where I dabble in a little bit of everything: acrylic, watercolor, collage and mixed media. I am attracted to the inner and outer landscapes that shape our every day lives. I love to paint all subject matters from flowers and ocean beaches to non representational galaxy skies and collages filled with torn scraps of magazine pages.
No matter how I express myself, everything I do is a reflection of the environment in and around me. I am always searching for inspiration. My muses include the highly charged metaphysical properties of crystals, salty Rhode Island beaches, 1960’s National Geographics, early morning winter sunrises and anything zodiac related.
These days I’m currently exploring the concept of what happens when worlds collide. Many of my mixed media collages are my way of making sense of how we organize our thoughts. What do we do with all of these lived experiences that coexist side by side in our mind, and how do they make us who we are? If we could put our many lived experiences into a visual representation, what might that look like- what happens when they all, collide?
I graduated from Colby college with a double major in studio art and art history. I have been an art teacher, a professional cake decorator, an assistant art gallery director, a yoga teacher, a waitress, a men’s handbag saleswoman… I have worn many hats and this evolution shows through in my work.
Thank you for stopping by and taking a look.
I hope my art inspires you to examine more closely your inner and outer world, to seek beauty everywhere and to find your curiosity along the way.
